2020 Rainwater Drainage
As you may have realised, rainwater has been a bit of a challenge at Magnolia.
Occasionally, the barn floor would get wet, water would literally come up through the floor. The previous owners always thought it was due to the bamboo plants at the back of the barn. It was not: It was caused by the drain pipe being blocked by plant roots.
I decided that we needed to resolve the rain water issue. We needed to manage it properly. This meant:
- Redirecting the rain water from the back of the house, through the barn and out to the well.
- We prepared the gathering of rain water from the gite (see Gite Wall rebuild) to also enter the well.
- Rain water from the front of the house was correctly redirected to the front of the property.
