2020 Renovations

The largest piece of work we would do, took place in 2020, the replacement of the main house roof. This also allowed us to widen the chimney stack for a wood-burning stove which is a must-have in winter.

Other necessities including the Gite wall that had collapsed prior to purchase, and sorting out the basic electrics, plus the rainwater drainage.

We also started with the paiting and decoration of the rooms.

Widening the Chimney

The chimney needed widening so we could install a wood-burner for winter.

Decorating Front 1st Floor Hall

This space was a mess. Plenty of plaster needed.

Decorating Downstairs Bedroom

This was a dark uncomfortable room so was in need of attention.

Decorating the Ensuite Bedroom

This bedroom needed decorating after the ensuit had been installed and also to remove the brown walls.

Decorating the Master Bedroom

This bedroom had wallpaper that needed to be removed due to humidity.

Electrics

The electrical issues identified during the purchase process needed to be fixed.

Rebuild Gite Wall

The Gite wall had already collapsed prior to purchase. It needed to be rebuilt.

House Roof

The big one. The whole of the roof needed replacing.

Rain Water Drainage

It rains a lot in winter and there were issues so this rainwater needed to be managed.
