2021 Gite Roof
It was decided to renovate the Gite roof in the same way as the main house, specifically with insulation. At the same time the rain water issues that caused the problem with the collapsed wall would be resolved.
So our local roofer Romain started and within 30 minutes he was calling saying the roof was not good.
He was not wrong.
In fact, the whole roof needed to be replaced, including the beams that had softened in the core.
This meant that the whole roof project was delayed until the new beams could be prepared. This was six months. This lead to rotting of the existing walls and the need to clear the whole gite after the roof was installed.
