Fire Alarms, Extinguishers and Blanket

The house has lots of wood… so there are a few things to help, just in case something does happen.

Fire Alarms

There are a number of fire alarms. If you are unlucky, the alarm will suddenly go off in the middle of the night, although there is no fire. It is basically telling you that the battery is nearly dead. The best way to stop this is to detach the fire-alarm and replace the battery. Which requires step-ladders. By the time they have been located, everyone in the house will be slightly annoyed.

Fire Extinguishers

There are five fire extinguishers in the house. Four large ones are located here

  1. Ground floor hall
  2. 1st floor hall
  3. Attic
  4. Balcony in the barn

plus one small one next to the fireplace.

Fire Blanket

For a sudden fire involving oil on the cooker, a fire blanket must be used. It is located on the shelf, to the right of the cooker.
