The Nespresso Machine(s)

Yes, there are two. They are a little old now, so a few things to look out for… but first the capsules.

Capsules – Buying & Recycling

You can buy them in both Lidl and L’Eclerc. Double check that they are the traditional Nespresso machine type. There are different types & sizes of capsules.

Officially, in our area, you can put the capsules into the Yellow bin (paper, plastic, cardboard, tins) but either is fine.

Daily Care

When not in use, empty the water reservoir, open the lid where the capsules go. Keep an eye open for water leaking, especially at the front, the small reservoir below the used-capsules can fill quickly.

If not is use for sometime, please remember to empty the capsule collector and any water that may have collected, see image below.

The Aeroccino

This is the milk frother. If you are unsure how much milk to add, put the cover on, and as a rule-of-thumb, cover half the spinner with milk. There is also a guide on the inside of the Aeroccino:

It is also important to clean the Aeroccino after each use, otherwise milk will burn to the inside. If milk does burn on the inside, use the scouring pad of a sponge pad, liquid soap and plenty of embow-grease and strong fingers. It will come off eventually.

The other challenge is that the spinner no longer spins. There is an easy solution to this: Clean the inside of the Aeroccino and then put a little olive oil on the nob where the spinner sits. Set the spinner going (without milk!). If still stuck, manually twist it to get it going, this should work.
